We're receiving reports that some customers can't connect their Pulse KM (not Pulse P1 ,HAN or IR) to their Tibber account. We've released a firmware update that fixes this.
Why the setup needs a strong Wi-Fi signal The Pulse KM has very little power available when it connects to Wi-Fi. The closer the Wi-Fi source is to your meter, the less power it needs. You can do this in one of two ways:
Option A β Use a mobile hotspot (recommended) You need two devices: one to share a mobile hotspot, and one with the Tibber app to do the pairing. It's fine if both devices have mobile data. Turn on the hotspot on the first device and hold it right next to your Pulse. (iPhone: also turn on "Maximize Compatibility".) 2. Start the pairing process in the Tibber app on the second device. 3. When asked to set up the Wi-Fi connection, choose the hotspot and finish pairing. 4. Keep the hotspot on and close to the Pulse for about 5 minutes while the firmware updates. 5. Fully close the Tibber app and open it again. 6. Open the Pulse widget, go to Settings β Pulse specifications, and check that the firmware version is 171-bf0ceecb 7. Once the firmware has been updated, reset the Pulse and pair it to the 2,4Ghz wifi network of your home.
Option B β Move your Wi-Fi closer Place your router or a Wi-Fi access point as close to your meter as possible, then pair the Pulse as usual and wait about 5 minutes for the update. Then do steps 5 and 6 above.
Replaced Pulse KM If you've received a replacement Pulse KM and pairing fails after you scan the QR code, your phone may still remember the old Pulse's network. Remove it first, then try pairing again.
iPhone / iPad 1. Open Settings β Wi-Fi. 2. Tap the β next to the Tibber Pulse network. 3. Tap Forget This Network and confirm. Don't see the network? Tap Edit in the top right, find it under Known Networks, tap β and choose Forget This Network.
Android(steps can vary by manufacturer and Android version) 1. Open Settings β Network & internet (or Connections)β Wi-Fi. 2. Open Saved networks. 3. Tap the Tibber Pulse network and choose Forget or Delete. Samsung: Settings β Connections β Wi-Fi β tap βοΈ next to the network β Forget.
Still not working? Make a screen recording of the pairing process (iPhone / Android) and send it to us through the Tibber app, or email hello@tibber.com from the email address linked to your Tibber account.
